
The myth that Wisconsin is a poor choice for business when it comes to taxes is simply that — a myth.
A Milken Institute study called the “2005 Cost-of-Doing-Business Index” ranked Wisconsin 20th out of 50 states and 6.4% less costly to do business in Wisconsin than the national average. The Index measures wage costs, taxes, electricity costs, and real estate costs for industrial and office space.
A 2004 Study by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston finds that Wisconsin business taxes are lower than 35 other states.
