MANITOWOC – The Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County recently appointed two new members to its board of directors.
Jill Hennessey is manager of talent acquisition at The Manitowoc Company, focusing on recruitment, development and retention of the company's Americas region workforce. Hennessey returned to the Lakeshore area in 2004 after living in Phoenix, Az. and Sacramento, Calif., where she worked as a recruiter for Intel Corp. Prior to this time, she worked in New York as a legal administrator for a national law firm.
Hennessey is a member of the Bay Area Workforce Development board, the Chamber of Manitowoc County board, and is currently chairperson of the Manitowoc County Mini-Chopper Project, a joint collaboration between education and business designed to generate excitement in skilled trades among high school students, with the goal of creating a skilled workforce to meet manufacturing needs of today and the future.
Residing in Manitowoc, Hennessey is active in many community events, including Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl-A-Thon and American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Karen Jacobson is minority owner and vice president of sales, marketing and administration at Heiden Inc. She oversees the sales function of the organization.
Jacobson recently moved to the area after having resided in New York City; Hamilton, Bermuda; Philadelphia, Pa.; and St. Paul-Minneapolis. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and most recently worked for American Home Assurance Co., a subsidiary of AIG, as senior vice president – excess casualty.
