Hennings earns World bronze

During the 2008 World Championship Cheese contest held in Madison, Henning Cheese, Kiel was the recipient of two bronze medals.

Master Cheese Maker Kerry Henning received the awards in Traditional Bandaged Cheddar and Shelf Cured Cracked Peppercorn in a Daisy form.

The World Championship Cheese contest is the largest international contest of its kind. It is held every other year and is sponsored by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. This year there were over 1,900 entries from 19 countries.

Kerry has been making cheese his entire life alongside his father Everett. He received his Master Cheese Maker's status in 1999 after completing a three year apprenticeship that included interviews, product evaluation, master level classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, facility evaluation and passing a final exam.
