Mainly Manitowoc to host celebration

MANITOWOC — The public is invited to a celebration of Mainly Manitowoc earning a Main Street Program designation from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, in front of The Courthouse Pub, 1001 S. Eighth St.

The street party will be held on the newly paved street, and include a pig roast and other foods, beverages, and rock music by The Ken Krueger Group.

The Mainly Manitowoc group of downtown business owners and supporters secured the Department of Commerce's Main Street designation in June. State officials will offer five years of free expertise designed to spur economic revitalization of the downtown.

Mainly Manitowoc will host an appearance by Jim Engle and his staff from the Main Street Program. Those attending the party can ask questions about how the program may help their downtown business or property.
