MANITOWOC — Randy and Lori Waniger, Chad and Carolyn Christel, and Lee and Mary Stuiber have purchased North Shore Warehouse from Jim and Irene Ziegelbauer, after they operated the liquor, soda and snacks business for some 40 years.
A statement from the three couples said the Ziegelbauers were helpful in the transition, and pleased the business would stay open to serve the local market. Randy Waniger has worked part time at the business, 839 S. 19th St., for the last 25 years.
Because he continues his full-time job as a route salesman for Frito Lay, Lee and Mary Stuiber were brought in to help operate the business. Mary Stuiber is a manager at Kaysun, Inc. Chad and Carolyn Christel bring a knowledge of the retail beverage industry, with Chad a salesman for Lakeside Pepsi.
The hours of operation remain the same, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The new owners have added additional beer and soda coolers, and 150 other new items, many at customers' requests. The store also features additional wine varieties.
