Airport Description

The Manitowoc County Airport (KMTW), Manitowoc County’s general aviation airport, has 56 acres of FAA-approved land to support aviation-related businesses.

Showing its committment to develop a first-class airport, Manitowoc County has invested nearly $14 milliion over the past nine years. In 2006, Runway 17/35 was rebuilt and runway lighting and drainage was improved in a project worth $3.5 million. In 2008, a $1.1 million project to reconstruct the parallel taxiway to the primary runway and design work for the reconstruction of the parallel taxiway to the secondary runway is planned.

The aiport is within a 10-mile radius of three industrial parks. Some 60 businesses use the airport.

The airport has a fix based operator, Lakeshore Aviation, which provides aircraft maintenance, fueling, flight instructions, aircraft rental, and pilot services. A recently added service is air charter service.
